So the other night I went to the Chrisette/Raheem concert! Did I like it...let's just say, "I've been to Heaven" (google the title to understand that statement).
The concert started with Solange now Sole-Angel and her set was really cute. It was a faux 1960's Diana Ross (big hair), with the background Solettes (I believe that was their name). Her new single is really cute "I Decided PT 1" (which too has that 1960's sound). I won't give away her entire show but it did make me like her music more. I always liked her but her songs never did it for me. Now, I feel differently.
Then Chrisette came on....this lady can give a show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crowd was hype but didn't give their all at times. I will say she made you feel good to be a single women who has her own. She made you want Love but not feel bad if you don't have it. And girlfriends voice.....DYNAMIC!!!! I can't wait for a few more albums to drop so I can go to an arena sized concert of hers.
Raheem...I need another concert of his. This was so good. He was all over the stage, he sang all the songs people want to hear from his first and second album. I loved it. Like I said....Raheem had me ask myself a question, and yes Tuesday night I went to heaven. He made you want to Love and make Love.
If you missed out on the "Soul Session/The Art of Love (I guess NYC's had a special name)" tour hopefully you can check it out in another city. It's so worth seeing.
