This won't be a long elaborate post, but I NEED to make this post because on Tuesday November 4, 2008, at the age of 28, I have contributed to and witnessed history, REAL history, history that I can be PROUD. The United States of America has elected Barak Hussein Obama as it's first non Caucasian, non mainland born (meaning he's from a part of America that isn't physically attached - Hawaii) president.
I went out and made my vote count early (the earliest I've ever gone and the longest I've ever waited to vote) and it was inspiring to see how many people did the same. My line was so long it extended around the corner and down the block of my voting station/former elementary school, P.S. 269 in Brooklyn, NY.
I'm not sure what the OBAMA Administration will bring, but I am confident that a POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE change will come to America. He's renewed in us Hope we can really believe it, and yes I'll say it - last night I was PROUD to be an American.
I've already ordered my T-Shirt and Lapel Pin from the official website of President Elect Obama because through the grace of God, I will be at my FIRST Presidential Inaguaration January 20, 2009.
