Antique Engagement Rings

So now that the Big 3-0 is fast approaching I'm starting to feel like settling down isn't a bad thing. I had a great talk on Mother's day (the day before I got "let go" - but that's another story) and I realized that all the things I've been wanting to have "for me" will take me way longer than it took my mom, aunts and older cousins because the economy itself is different. Simply stated, the salary of someone with a Bachelors and Masters degree (in social services) in 2010 is the same as that of a high school student in 1976. The average mortgage in 1990 was $450 (with about $200-$300 in property taxes) where as mortgage in 2010 is about $1000 not including property tax. So now I have a new motto - "building wealth together." So with that said, I say - save the wealth for the house, and get me a nice antique ring to start off our legacy. Something like these:
